Credit card report against fraud to my credit card

Constanley receiving calls from 866-290-4961, trying to sell my offers from discover card

I personally think this is a scammer.  He said he was from Discover and told me that there had been some recent identity thefts in my area and they wanted to send me a free copy of my credit report.  He asked me if I knew what identity theft was.  I wouldn't answer him.  I asked him what the catch was to this free credit report.  He said there was none.  I told him I wasn't interested.  I then called the Discover company and they said that they hadn't called me--that maybe this company was a telemarketer.  I informed them that this scammer guy told me that he was from "Discover."  I gave them the number and told the real Discover to give that # to their security department.  Don't give out any personal info to this phone #.  I called the # back by the way and there's just an answering machine--couldn't get a live operator.

Whoever calls, calls at least 5 times a day and does not leave a message if nobody answers.
 We have gotten voicemail messages (don't know if from this phone number) about lowering our interest rate, doesn't tell us who they are from, and that this is the last time they will call. However, they have called before and left the same message about lowering the interest rate. I do agree with Justin because I do believe the guy from Discover is a scam.

Been getting calls from this number daily but they don't leave a message. Just got another call from them this evening at 8:30.

They call for my husband, I say he's not home, he is at work.  Would you like to leave a mess....."click"   That is just rude I hate that.  the thing I don't get is we have a discover card in both our names and they won't talk to me.  My husband hates theses calls, if I hand him the phone he starts making obscene noises and then hangs up.

This number takes spells of calling and when they start it continues for days and even on weekends and all hours of the day.  We NEVER answer and they NEVER
leave a message.  I am tired of the credit card companies selling our info out
to these telemarketers.  I thought there was supposed to be a law against the legitimite companies doing things like this.  If there isn't a law ... there most definitely should be.  Where is our PRIVACY anymore !!!

Calling about a credit report $9.99 charge to card for credit card protection.  Is this a scam or what? They knew all my information - address and last 4 digits of my discovercard #.
