u tell them they have the wrong # but still call

This caller attempted to get my tel number after having a recording call me.  It appears to be a scam or an attempt at identity theft.  If they are a legit collection agency...they garble the name so you can't understand what they are saying.  They are rude.  I am reporting this number to the Attorneys General of the States of Illinois and California.  Their practices are an outrage.  I have told them to call me back in 24 hours or I will files complaints with the A.G.s as well as the Police when I verify their location.  This kind of crap went out with handle bar mustaches. They give an 800 number as follows 800-295-5875 and then block your return when you question them.

number keeps calling me, like every hour. rings once, then hangs us or hangs up when I answer. Tried calling back and the number appears to be disconnected. This is annoying.

Well I got my first call from 773-202-4177 on my cell phone but I didn't answer the call without first knowing who it was from. who can I report this to so I won't get a second call.  I am labeling the call as Annoying - do not answer.

GARBLED...CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHO THEY ARE OR WHAT THEY WANT!  SHE SAID IT WAS IN RELATION TO MY BUSINESS BUT WOULDN'T SPECIFY...WANTED ME TO CALL BACK!  I DIDN'T...GET SEVERAL CALLS A DAY FROM THEM.

This number called me 2 times now and more - on 10/4 at 10:04AM and 10/22 at 8:15PM. A pre-recorded message follows to hit 1, supposedly to "MY LAST CHANCE" to address credit card problems. When you call this number back, you get THEIR recording, mimicking a phone company recording, that the number has been disconnected or is no longer in use. IF you choose 1, you are connected to a person who prompts you to ultimately give them information about a person who doesn't live with me - they are a debt collection service.

I have already complained to the Illinois BBB and filed a complaint with the federal Do Not Call listing.

My next move is to purchase a VERY LOUD distress boat horn and when I manage to get through to a real person, blast the crap out of it, and say sorry - must be a bad connection or something!
