I have been getting 1-2 calls per day for the last two weeks. They ask for my daughter who is out of the country. I have told them this but they keep calling and are rude if I pick up to try to get them to stop.
This number calls multiple times a day up until 9 PM with the caller ID of "Card Services." They called 4 times today, 3 times yesterday, and 3 times the day before. This has been going on for weeks and I have always refused to answer.
They called again on 9-15-09 during the dinner hour. I asked them to quit calling me. They called again shortly before 9:00 p.m. and at this time did not answer when I said hello. This is being a pest.
Also being called twice a day. I see other comments here that mention card services. I did not record the number but after they stopped the Texas Call started. About twice a day. Around noon and again around 8 pm. They never leave a message. Have not gotten any letters from creditors from any texas address, so I don't think it's them. Caller ID and answering machines are a blessing. My phone also has the option to temporarily turn off the ringer during that one call. Dudes, it's your dime.
You are receiving these calls because Bank of America, your credit card company, has sold or given your personal info and telephone number to 3rd party firms who want to sell you credit card insurance, etc. They call from 516-277-2129, 512-961-5505 and who knows what other numbers. Call your Member Services number on the back of the card and tell them you want your name, phone number AND email address (yes, they give that out too) removed from all 3rd parties. Surprise! They will tell you it may take up to 12 WEEKS for all of this to happen. BOA is just plain Scum out to make a buck at your expense!
These people claim to be calling from "my credit card company" to offer me an account protection plan, but they cannot name the actual credit company. Scamtastic.
