On Saturday, January 31, 2009, at 9:41 AM, our Phone rang from 1-407-000-4712 and I answered the call on the 3rd Ring but there was only ambient noise followed by a hang-up on their end.
wanted to know if I want my interest rate lower on my credit card. I ask what card where they talkin about, would not give me a answere. I ask for a number to call them back, they said for security reason, they couldn't give me one, they wanted to cll me back. I said I was leaving would not be here. Then they just hung up.
I answered the call and was told that they wanted to lower my cc interest rate to 6%. Then I got a live person. I asked whether they knew my current rate. The guy said, "didn't you understand our message?" I asked what Card Service he represented. Total silence on his end. I told him I had a right to know who his company was. Then he hung up.
At 4:10 PM I just rec. a call from this number wanting to lower my credit rate also. I questioned as to what card, he said Visa, interesting, I don't have Visa, well, then he said we can also do MC, he just needed the special 10 digit password. I said I was not giving him any numbers off my card and I didn't have any password for it. He said everybody did since Oboma took over. I informed him I wasn't giving him any information and besides that I was on the DO Not Call List, so do not call me again! He tried to tell me since Oboma took over, and yesterday, the do not call list was done away with and that if I was truly on a do not call, then even my friends & family wouldn't be able to now. Needless to say I left him talking to himself and hung up. I called the FCC....nothing has changed.....make sure you are registered and report these scumbags! This is the number 888-382-1222 or go to www.donotcall.gov
these bastards (407)-000-4712 are up to crank calls again...I received a call with silence on the line....then someone hung up. Lets start calling them and asking for their home phone number, and when they will be home.
Wow, from the above comments I'm glad I didn't pick this one up. They called and hung up on the answering machine. I don't have caller ID but traced it with *69 and the number 4070004712 came up. Ugh, I hope they never call again because they sound awful....calling people names and stuff...what in the world is the DO NOT CALL list for anyway if they are still going to call???
A robo call, with a recorded message telling me I could lower the rates on my credit card account (NB: I have no credit cards; I decided to switch to cash only after a bankruptcy several years ago).
I stayed on the line to talk to an operator because I wanted to find out who these people were and what their game was. An operator came on and identified herself as Amanda and asked my name. After I told her, there was a loud "click," then ambient noise for about ten seconds, then the call disconnected.
