02920368711 - called asking me a bunch of questions about my mobile phone. I dont know how they got my details as it's a private number that I don't put out there.
This number kept calling up, sometimes leaving 10 missed calls a day. I called back, and it was 3 mobile trying to get me to start a contract with them. Avoid like the plague! I told him that if they were to call again, I would start legal action. I have had no further calls since.
This number just rang me and said they were from phone heaven..while laughing the consultant tried to continue the call. I asked to be removed from the dialer system. How they get any business with customer service staff laughing on the phone I don't know.
I just got a call from this number on my mobile. Knew it was wrong as I don't give the number to anyone I don't know but I answered anyway, prepared to ask them 'politely' to 'go away'. They didn't wait, just hung up when I said hello! Not going to sell many phone contracts that way lol. This website is GREAT. At least I now know who I'm dealing with when they call back (as they no doubt will), and what a great suggestion to say it's a work phone - thanks Eric.
Rang a few times during the day. Eventually i answered and indeed was offered new contracts. I asked how they got my number. Response was "we can get anyones details" How scary is that! I said im not interested and hung up.
Yeah, I just got a call from this number. As soon as i picked up and said my name, they hung up - no idea who or what it was, but I havent given out my number to anyone in cardiff (where wiki answers says the 02920 area code is from) so yeah. Thanks to this website.
I kept getting calls from them about 2 months ago I kept telling them to leave me alone but they wouldn't till adventually I said to them what you're doing is harrassment and i'll get you done, the bloke on the end just went "um ok" and then tried to continue his call!!!! I then said how did you get my details and his reply was "doesn't matter" which I replied to "well it will matter for you braking the data protection act and using my details when I no for deff I have noted I dnt want my number used thats an offence" He put the phone down, But now I've receieved a call from them again today!! I just said phone is not in my name and he just said sorry and put phone down!!!!!
got loads of calls today by the above number all they do is hang up as soon as i answered would love to know where they got my number from as if i have to fill out any forms online etc i use my old number!
i get an average of 2 calls a day from these numbers, i never pick them after the first one when they just hung up straight away, although i think i may now try answering and saying the phone is not in my name to try and make them stop!
Just got a phone call from these too, was a bit suprised to put the number into google and find it was a company, just thought kids messing about at first as all i got when i answered was a laugh before they hung up!
Like many cold calling companies, they will be using an automatic dialing system. This is where computers will dial your number and connect you and the saleseperson togethor. Depending on which button the sales person presses after the call will determine if you get called again. Its likely that they are pressing the 'contact not at home' button or something similar. This will just then fire you back into the loop for a call at a later time. The alternative to them pressing this button (for instance they could press 'no sale') may mean that their sales bonus is in jeapordy. Much easier for them to add you back into the system. It basically means they are not failing in their objective of converting you to their contract and their 'sales made' versus 'calls made'% remains unaffected. Unscrupulus? Yes. Whose fault is it? I would say it is the management making it difficult for their staff to key in genuine responses from their calls. It's very unfair that this means you may keep getting the calls and I truly sympathise. Try saying: "I have already reported this to your management team and they assure me that their sales staff are at fault. All calls to this number are now being monitored by YOUR management for correct call response logging so please ensure that you log this as a no-sale to remove me from the loop"
I keep receiving calls from this number-no idea but I wont answer because I am getting calls from 3 strange numberes already and when I answered one the charges where ridiculous..over £3 for 30 seconds!!!!
Does anyone know how to block these calls-they're really starting to f**k me off!
They usually hang up when you answer. I figure this is for 2 reasons. 1. They want you to call them back so that you pay the phonebill and it is not then an unsolicited call and 2. They are wanting your voicemail to kick in and tell them what phone company you are using eg "The Orange phone you have called is unavailable". Then, the next time they call they can say they are contacting you about your Orange contract. Just a theory...
