Fitness Instructor
9 Feb 2009
This call started off as sounding like an enquiry about my fitness classes with the caller claiming to be an instructor himself, he asked probing questions about my business and when I insisted that he told me who he really was and what he was selling he claimed to be part of BT selling some kind of internet search engine service for businesses.
Very pushy - Can't believe BT need to stoop so low. he wouldn't e-mail me the info he supposedly had for me. And he wondered why I didn't want to know!
claiming to be from bt selling a contract to be within a new up and coming search engine,i am a plumber, they claim to promote my business and get me work.asked them to email info, havnt received anything yet.expecting call tomorrow morning, after finding out that its bu***hit im quite looking forward to answering their call.
Claimed to be from BT. Quite a rough sounding character. Kept asking him if he was trying to sell advertising. Said he wasn't, but were we not interested in doing more business in our area. I am extremely sceptical about these sort of cslls, and said we were quite satisfied with our current arrangements. He had no answer to that and rang off. Very glad I didn't fall for it after checking the number on your site and realising it was yet another scam.
Very, very aggresive woman - said her name was Lindsey but claimed she was not selling anything. Eventually claimed she was working for a division of BT and wanted to sell me an internet service which she seemed unable to explain to me but was very insistent that it was what I wanted for my business. She wanted £199 set up fee and then £29 per month for whatever this mysterious service was. I could also barely hear what she was saying and asked her to call back. When she rang back I realised that I couldn't hear her because they were playing such loud music in her office. She said someone was leaving so there was a party going on. It was 3:00 in the afternoon. Very professional! If this number really does belong to part of BT they need to sort this out. A very unpleasant experience from start to finish. BTW - I didn't buy the "service"!!
had a lengthly phone call today, bloke was ok to talk to but he was very vague about what i was gettiing in return...kept mentioning "97 customer leads a month" that become available to me if i pay the sign up fee of £299 plus £2 per day subscription. he also said he was part of bt, and that my business would be put on other business registers like smile local? etc, this is apparently where these customer leeds come from. he said i also get a free web page with search engine optimization, 10 keywords for my website, said id get 3 domain names that they would purchase for me and other things but cant remember. asked him to email info but again didnt send anything, i was tempted at first but the more i think about and from what ive read here im not going to!!
I've had three calls from a company claiming to be from BT and having a long list of clients wanting to sign up for life coaching in the Midlands. I can only think they got my number from my website. But they never send any further information and quickly lose interest if I'm not prepared to pay them money.
This is a scam! do not even give them the time of day! VERY VERY PUSHY and wont take no for an answer. BT customer street seems to never give up. Dont sign up whatever you do! I had a northern guy keep ringing me and i've had 2 calls today but no message left.
Same happenD to me. Numerous phone calls, very aggressive salesman and fear close tactics. Apparently they are part of BT and are selling online web directory/search optimization service.
You can't trust any compony that tries to convince you that they have customers waiting to use your business etc..
Just had a call from this number saying there were 105 people lookng for my services as a psychotherapist and that for some small payment they could put me in front of these people and get a great return on investment! I don't think so.
A very pushy sales person apparently from BT who insisted I need his help marketing my holiday cottage. He had apparently researched my market and claimed that my website is not getting found by people on search engines (funny that, I'm a professional website designer specialising in SEO and it looks fine to me!) - he wouldn't take "no" for an answer so I hung up on him.
These people are really pissing me off. Trying to sell some stupid internet service. When u tell someone your not interested that should be the last time they call, not quite with this rogue company claiming to be BT. I gave them a mouthful of s**t just like they gave me but not until after i wasted half an hour of their time and putting them on hold for 10 mins. i really wasnt interested from the start.
Number has been calling for a couple of days regarding internet advertising. (My profession) What they can do is fabulous (!), top link on all search engines, first point of call for 118500 numbers all for the great sum of £199 initial payment followed by £39 per month, email me the details I said and I'll think about it (whilst reading the comments above), he couldn't get off the phone quick enough, still nothing received NUFF Said... STAY AWAY. No company can do what they are saying!
Very pushy to the point of being rude & sarcastic. Second such call from BT. Both started off asking me if I wanted more work as a first aisd trainer. Told him I did not want to advertise with them as I had enough already. Told him never to contact me again, but he just would not go away. He just would not go away & end the call as I asked him, so I hung up on him.
